Donald Trump’s image is plummeting to new lows with 70 % of Americans holding negative views of the real estate tycoon, as Americans fret over choices in the unusual 2016 election season.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows negative views of Trump have now surged far ahead of Democratic Hillary Clinton, whose ratings have also ebbed to their lowest level in more two decades of her public life.
As much as 56 percent majority of the 70 percent who see Trump negatively, feel so “strongly.”
The Post-ABC survey was conducted Wednesday through Sunday among a random national sample of U.S. adults, coming after last week’s primary contests, but with the large majority of interviews completed before Sunday’s massacre at an Orlando club, the Post said.
Hillary Clinton has favorable impressions with about 43 Americans while 55 percent rate her unfavorably.
The survey reveals that Trump has become more unpopular among among liberals and conservatives and among both Republican women and Democratic men. Significantly, the presumptive Republican nominee’s image has has also worsened among independents and white Americans, who do not have a four-year college degree.
