Apple has decided to completely shun next month’s Republican convention, in a rebuke to likely nominee Donald Trump’s political rhetoric against immigrants, minorities and women.
A Politico report says the tech giant has informed the GOP that it would neither give any funding nor provide any service during the Cleveland convention.
The convention takes place after a highly unconventional primary campaign run by real estate tycoon Trump, who tore apart his Party rivals with abrasive attacks and frequently targeted Muslims, Latinos and women in disparaging terms.
The billionaire businessman has also announced plans to build a wall along United States-Mexico border to stop inflow of immigrants and bar all Muslims from entering the United States.
Trump also locked horns with Apple on the campaign trail over the issue of encryption following San Bernardino attacks, and even advocated a boycott of the company’s products.
Facebook, Google and Microsoft have already declared that they would not give any cash but offer some support and services during the convention that seeks to lay out plan for November 8 election.
Earlier this month, digital media company BuzzFeed had called off an advertising deal with the Republican National Committee citing Trump’s outbursts against immigrants.
