Virginia Senator Time Kaine, who is on the list of Hillary Clinton’s potential vice presidential picks, joined the Democratic presumptive nominee in Virginia on Thursday, as she weighed options for her running mate ahead of Democratic National Convention.
Addressing a diverse gathering of voters at Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, Clinton contrasted her credentials with Trump, and renewed her message of economic hope and unity among Americans.
A new poll by The New York Times and CBS reported Thursday that Clinton and her likely Republican rival Donald Trump were tied at 40 percent each approval rating with registered voters.
In June, Clinton led Trump by 43 percent to 37 percent with voters.
But her supporters are confident that Clinton would soon overcome faltering poll numbers in the wake of fresh criticism of her use of private email account as secretary of state.

“I am super excited that she came here. Hillary Clinton is a leader with support from all American communities. I’m sure she will help the working and middle class grow economically.” Naila Alam, a Pakistani-American community activist and member on Virginia Governor Board, said.
“She will adopt good policies and make sure that Muslim Americans do not face any discrimination as being propagated by some Republicans,” Alam remarked.
At the rally, Clinton echoed her theme that Americans are stronger when they are united.
“In my first 100 days, as part of my commitment, I will introduce comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship,” she said to applause from gathering including large presence of Latinos.
Immigration is one of the top issues in the 2016 election campaign. Trump has declared to build a wall on US border with Mexico to stop immigrant inflow.
For Tim Kaine it was an opportunity to showcase his ability to fire up voters consistent with demands of an intense political fight ahead with Republican Trump.
“Do you want a trash-talker president or a bridge-builder president?” Kaine said. “That is what’s at stake.”
Clinton praised Kaine’s long experience as governor and lawmaker.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to attack Clinton on several issues including her trustworthiness and at the same time offering angry voters to solve all their problems with his slogan to “make America great again.”
The Clinton campaign is also on the offense, trying to exploit Trump’s political outbursts as weaknesses for a resolute leader and his opaque business dealings and ventures.
“We’re standing in front of the Old Trump Plaza Casino and Hotel. Donald Trump once predicted, ‘It will be the biggest hit yet.’ Now it’s abandoned,” Clinton said of the billionaire business’n project on the Atlantic City Boardwalk during a visit to New Jersey last week.
