Pakistan, which has doubled information technology exports in a digital upsurge during the last three years, aims to scale $ 6 billion annual mark by 2020.
According to IT and Telecom State Minister Anusha Rehman Khan, registration of new companies, their proper documentation, creation of new opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies to develop new products and services for export purposes, will be among steps to stimulate growth of the sector.
Khan, who inaugurated a National Incubation Centre, said the project in capital Islamabad will alone harbor and prepare 40 startups every year.
Pakistan Software Export Board has increased the documented IT exports by 49% since 2013, just by reorganizing the processes, she noted.
Pakistan annual exports currently stand amount to $2.8 billion, a 100% jump from $1.4 billion recorded in 2013.
Since 2013, the number of companies has also grown to 1,100 within two years, from 300 companies registered with PSEB about three years ago.
