Hillary Clinton has moved past Donald Trump in polls with registered voters after last week’s Democratic Convention, leaving behind a race tie that emerged after Republican Convention about two weeks ago, two polls said Monday.
A CBS poll revealed Monday that 46 percent of American voters are inclined to vote for Democratic candidate Clinton in November presidential election, while 39 percent expressed support for Republican candidate Trump.
The race was tied 42-42, after the Republican Convention in Cleveland. Before that convention Clinton was ahead of her rival by a similar margin in June.
The CBS poll shows that Clinton got a four-point bounce after the Philadelphia Democratic Convention, while Trump had secured a two-point lift from the Republican Convention.
After the convention, positive views of Hillary Clinton have risen five points among registered voters, from 31 percent a week ago to 36 percent today while unfavorable views of Hillary Clinton have dropped six points: from 56 percent to 50 percent.
On the other hand, half of voters continue to hold an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump and only 31 percent viewing him favorably.
The CNN, meanwhile, reported that Hillary Clinton now has a 7-point lead since the convention.
A new CNN/OCR poll said in a two-way head-to-head matchup, Clinton beats Trump 52% to 43%.
