Combining her athletic ability with gymnastic aesthetics, American Simone Biles grabbed fourth gold of Rio Olympics, reinforcing her status as the top gymnast in the world.
With the golden floor showing, Biles etched her name in the Olympic history at multiple levels: she is only the fourth woman in the history to win four gold medals; she is the fourth American woman gymnast to claim five medals in a single Olympics event; her total tally of world championships and Olympics medals make her the most decorated American gymnast.
The latest Gold medal for the 19-year-old came as she stunned sport fans with a seamless flow in the individual floor exercise competition.
‘I’ve enjoyed every single moment of it. I know our team has. It’s been very long in competing so many times. It got tiring. But we just wanted to end on a good note,” Biles said.
Tuesday’s performance with a score of 15.966 was a special as it came after a below par bronze medal in the balance team event.
