It takes hours for the Haleem to be readied by mealtime – lunch and dinner- and Al Hamra Café takes pride in specializing and serving the popular Pakistani and Middle Eastern dish.
Since its grand opening this summer, Al Hamra Café in Annandale, Virginia, has been frequented by a diversity of visitors for a range of Middle Eastern and Pakistani cuisine.
A blending of wheat barley, lintels, spices and meat – which often is chicken but also beef and mutton depending on the choice of customers – served with orange, parsley, crushed ginger, fried onion, green chilies – creates a unique aroma and flavor.
Then there is the freshly baked “Naan” –a traditional large round shaped bread of loaf. Some people prefer to eat Haleem with rice.
In the spacious Al Hamra kitchen, top chefs take care of the right mix.
“I had always wanted to offer top cuisine to people in my hometown – and I am delighted that local and immigrant people are liking our Haleem so much,” Naseem Siddique, a Pakistani American told Views and News.
Siddiqui brings a decade-long experience with serving the Middle Eastern cuisine from a café in Redondo Beach, California. But Haleem is just one of the dishes Siddiqui family’s cafe serves.
