Federal Bureau of Investigation will search emails on a computer used by former congressman Anthony Weiner, who was husband of top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin – days before November 8 election.
The FBI, which has obtained a warrant to go ahead with the search will review if the emails pertain to a probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server during her term as America’s top diplomat.
According to The Washington Post, an official says emails found in the Weiner investigation – in a case of sexting- number aroundd 650,000.
Meanwhile, a federal official confirmed to The New York Times that “the process has begun,” as part of the effort to complete much of the work ahead of election day.
But it is not clear at the moment how much of wok will be completed before election day.
The revelation of the latest probe that might be relevant to Clinton’s email – after FBI Director James Corney informed Congress of the newly discovered emails – has rocked the Democratic candidate’s campaign on the eve of election.
Clinton is locked almoste evenly with Donald Trump in the White House race and the latest probe development is one of the most unsual dimensions of the intense campaign.
According to an ABC/Washington Post tracker, Clinton, who until last week led her Republican rival by a clear-cut margin – even in double digits according to some polls – is now just one point ahead.
