President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley for the position of secretary of state in his administration.
According to the Trump campaign, Haley is among Republican leaders and lawmakers who will meet with the president-elect on Thursday.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Cincinnati Mayor Ken Blackwell, NSA head Mike Rogers, Rep. Jeb Hensarling (Texas), and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger will also meet with Trump shaping his transition team in Trump Tower, New York.
During the primary season, Haley supported Marco Rubio, and it was not until October this year, when she said she would vote for Trump.
Although, the Trump campaign and the president-elect have not announced any cabinet nominations, some leading media organizations reported Haley is being considered for position as America’s top diplomat.
Haley was born as Nimrata Randhawa to Sikh parents who hailed from Indian Punjab. Later, the two-time governor of South Carolina converted to Christianity and is married to Michael Haley.
