Women turned out in large numbers in Washington and New York on Saturday, with demonstrations to press their call for rights and justice for all .
Tens of thousands women participated in the the march on Washington to express their opposition to any discrimination or rhetoric as witnessed on the campaign trail. The rallies took place a day after President Donald Trump took oath as the 45th president of the United States, and many speakers said they wanted their message to be heard.
A lot of participant, hailing from different American cities, wore “pussyhats” — knit caps with cat ears — as they converged on the National Mall and hear from prominent women’s rights activists, lawmakers and celebrities.
Meanwhile, expressing solidarity with Washington marchers, women in several European countries also held demonstrations, demanding equality and fair treatment for all.
In New York, women led the march, stressing that women’s rights are human rights, and all Americans must get equal treatment in line with the Constitution.
