Finally, after days of wintry rains and gusty winds, Washingtonian D.C. got a picture perfect start to 2017 Spring on Sunday.
The speckles skies and gently warming sunshine saw visitors from around the metro area flock to the city’s monuments and museums – thronging through the National Mall, with Washington Monument, Jefferson’s Memorial, Capitol Hill and the White House drawing huge numbers.
The fading cherry blossom – which saw a transient bloom this Spring due to sudden March frosty frenzy – were also an attraction at a few places with temperature hovering around 70 Fahrenheit during much of the afternoon.
But it was the Spring warmth that ran across the region and the District like a vibrant life current, affording opportunity to Washingtonians and visitors from other areas to enjoy the several scenic views near and around the capital’s landmarks.
