President Donald Trump has expressed goodwill for Pakistan and its people, Islamabad’s new ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said Monday.
Ambassador Chaudhry presented his credentials to President Trump at a White House ceremony.
“I conveyed the commitment of Pakistani leadership and the Pakistani people to further strengthening relations with the United States,” he said in brief remarks to the media at the Pakistani embassy.
“Our two countries have had a close relationship since the inception of Pakistan in 1947, we have been allies and we should further advance and enhance the bilateral relationship.”
Regarding President Trump’s views, Ambassador Chaudhry said the US president expressed goodwill for Pakistan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
