Reacting to North Korea’s nuclear test on Sunday, President Donald Trump said Pyongyang’s actions pose a danger to the United States and that appeasement with the country would not work.
The US Geological Survey detected a 6.3 magnitude “explosion” in North Korea, while Japan also confirmed North Korea’s provocative action.
The United Nations, Japan and regional countries have expressed grave concern over Pyongyang’s latest nuclear explosion, its since acquiring the capability. The regime has been conducting several missile launches and on Sunday called the latest device as missile-ready.
“North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test. Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States,” Trump said in a tweet.

Trump’s statements on Twitter also criticized South Korean and Chinese efforts to reign in North Korea. On China, he said, Beijing has tried to restrain North Korean regime but with no success.
South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!

Meanwhile, Japan has protested the latest nuclear testing.
The head of the United Nations atomic agency has spoken against “an extremely regrettable act” that completely disregarded the international community’s repeated demands.
“Today’s nuclear test by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is an extremely regrettable act,” said Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in a statement.
“This new test, which follows the two tests last year and is the sixth since 2006, is in complete disregard of the repeated demands of the international community,” he added.
In its resolutions, most recently in 2371, the Security Council has reaffirmed its decisions that the DPRK should not conduct any further nuclear tests and should abandon all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programmes in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner.
“Once again, I strongly urge the DPRK to fully implement all relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the IAEA,” Mr. Amano said, noting that his agency continues to closely follow developments in the DPRK’s nuclear programme and remains ready to contribute to its peaceful resolution.
