The gun attack against unsuspecting crowd at a country music festival in Las Vegas shattered 59 lives, wounded more than 500 people and raised a mountain of fresh questions about gun control and safety of citizens.
Stephen Paddock, who rained down bullets with semi-automatic weapons on the gathering from the 32nd story of Mandalay Bay Hotel across the street had 23 guns in his hotel room, and another cache of 19 weapons at his home.
Las Vegas Police have said they have not determined a definitive motive behind the deadliest shooting in the recent U.S. history.
The atrocious scale of the gun assault has shocked the entire nation, with President Donald Trump condemning it as an act of “pure evil,” and urging unity.
But a lot of unknowns surrounding the 64-year-old Paddock’s shooting rampage has revived the debate about gun control and easy access to such lethal weapons. That remains the case irrespective of the personal lifestyle or motives behind the attackers.
