A lawsuit over planned purshcase of a prized hilltop convent property in Los Angeles has brought Katy Perry $ 5 million in damages to be paid by a real estate developor.
The real estate developer Dana Hollister was found to have maliciously interfered in the deal the pop star had concluded with the archbishop.
Hollster was sued by Perry for obstructing the deal by turning the nuns against the star’s planned purchase.
Perry intended to buy the convent, located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles for $14.5m, and build it into a home.
The pop singer had tried to win over the nuns with a visit and rendition of gospel songs. However, the nuns said they would go fr Hollister’s higher offer.
Besides, Perry, the archdiocese has been awarded $10 million in damages.
Perry will now need to work out the deal and can only move into the property after nuns have been lodged.
