President Donald Trump has said Democrats wanted to give him shutdown gift on his first anniversary and have chosen politics over deal-making.
In a series of Twitter messages, Trump reacted strongly to the government shutdown after Senate failed to come up with a compromise negotiations on the budget bill Friday night. The Republican controlled House had earlier passed the spending measure.
But in the Senate, Republicans, though in majority with 51 seats, need at least 60 votes to pass bill, which can only happen with the support of Democrats.
This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present. #DemocratShutdown

Democrats have been pressing President Trump to keep intact the policy of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Based on the DREAM Act bill, an Obama era legislation, DACA allows dreamers – individuals who were brought to the United States as children without proper immigration documentation – to stay in the United States.
The Trump Administration has rescinded the measure, a step with Democrats say jeopardizes the future of around 800,000 beneficiary dreamers, who have grown up and studied in the United States and form an important part of the workforce.
The deadlock over spending bill triggered a shutdown of many services across the federal departments, sending thousands of workers on furlough.
Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!

Although a lot of services froze with the absence of employees, the departments continue to provide essential services with employees responsible for those continuing to work.
Republican majority leader Senator Mitch McConnell is now seeking a top-gap measure to fund the government working into February.
Meanwhile, Democrats have said they would stick to their demand to protect undocumented immigrants.
Both Democrats and Republicans have been urging the Americans to give them a bigger representation on the Capitol Hill in 2018 election, when all seats of the House of Representatives will be up for grabs.
President Trump tweeted that Americans should elect more Republicans in the face of shutdown.
Democratic Senator Tim Kaine, who ran as vice president in the 2016 election, expressed the hope for a strong showing this year following Democratic victory in Virginia’s gubernatorial and state legislature elections.
Speaking at a women’s march in Washington D.C. on Saturday, Kaine urged voters in other parts of the country to send more elected leaders to the Hill to advance Democratic agenda.
