Pakistan’s embassy in Washington D.C. has launched a new website as part of the public diplomacy efforts and improve access to information through a variety of new links.
Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said at the inaugural ceremony that the new website has been made attractive, user-friendly and interactive so that correct information can reach the public from its platform.
The new website has a dedicated section on consular services which contains links to Machine Readable Passport and NADRA related services, visa requirements, forms, fee structures as well as information regarding attestation of documents.
A media center of the website archives all press releases and newsletters issued by the Embassy as well as video links to events and interviews. The embassy’s recently published fact sheet on counterterrorism is also posted on the website. It also features relevant information about Pakistan, especially related to Government, history, tourism, economic, trade, education and culture.

A special feature of the new website includes a community dashboard that showcases various events and activities undertaken by the embassy as part of its reach out to the U.S. Government, corporate America, and especially the Pakistani- American community, with a view to facilitating networking, cohesion and synergy.
Ambassador Chaudhry encouraged visitors to send their feedback to help the embassy further improve the website in the days ahead.
Pakistani-Americans, who attended the event, applauded the initiative that brings together information on wide-ranging subjects at one platform.
Earlier, the ambassador presided over a conference of Pakistani Consuls General in the United States, underscoring the importance of consular services as a priority task of our diplomatic and consular Missions.
He stressed that the Embassy and the Consulates must ensure timely, efficient and welfare oriented consular services to the community. Consuls General New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston and the Officer In-charge of consular affairs at the Embassy in DC gave presentations on the improvements brought in the consular services.
The ambassador noted that the decision to open Consular Section on at least one Sunday of the month has been greatly appreciated. It was agreed to continue employment of a dedicated consular representative in each Mission to attend telephone queries which has immensely helped improve the standard of consular services. Implementation of digital token system provides an equal opportunity to the applicants from all walks of life.

He also informed that the waiting area at the Consular Section of the Embassy in DC had been expanded to provide comfortable seating for the visitors.
The diplomats agreed to further enhance outreach to Pakistani-American community, which has always positively contributed to the development of Pakistan and in promoting friendly relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Ambassador Chaudhry impressed upon his team to effectively involve Pakistani-Americans in strengthening commercial and trade relations between the two countries.
