Asian American Chamber of Commerce will celebrate outstanding individuals, small business, corporations and non-profits from Washington metro area at its Jewels of Asia gala on May 10.
Jewels of Asia gala is an annual trademark event of the Fairfax-based AACC, a growing body of Virginian business leaders.
“We are continuing and expanding our annual celebration of the outstanding individuals, small businesses, corporations, and non-profits that have made a significant impact, and contribution to the greater Northern Virginia, Maryland, or District of Columbia communities,” Dr. Cindy Shao, President of the chamber, says.
The AACC is adding to its list awards for businesses and leaders making an impact among global communities.
But the 2018 event – to be held at the Westwood Country Club – will not just be an awards ceremony but an intercultural gathering with performances, a cocktail reception, and coming together of diverse and minority communities. Top political leaders of the area have attended the event over the past several years.
“It will be a golden opportunity for startups and seasoned business leaders to market and network, a celebration where people can inspire and also draw inspiration from,’ Shao, a known leader in Northern Virginia, says.
The awards include AACC BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD, which goes to outstanding performers in five categories known as Small Business of the Year Award, Company of the Year Award, Women & Veteran Owned Business of the Year Award, New Business of the Year Award, and Non-Profit of the Year Award.
Another award, named as AACC LEADERSHIP OF THE YEAR AWARD recognizes successful entrepreneurs as Young Professional of the Year Award (under age 40 years old), Business Leader of Year Award, Community Leader of the Year Award and Mentor of the Year Award.
The chamber will also gives away AACC INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD, AACC MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD, AACC CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT’S AWARD and AACC PARTNERS AWARD at the gala.
