BL Networking will be back with its trademark Small Business Expo on November 16, an event expected to draw robust participation of several established companies and startups.
The Expo – to be held in Fairfax – will serve the dual purpose: help businesses to showcase their products and services and provide an opportunity to network for both exhibitors and visitors.
According to BL founder Basile Lemba, the importance of exhibitions as platforms for human interaction is increasing by the day as Internet-connected machines and gadgets become more ubiquitous.
“In today’s society we are experiencing less and less personal contact/connection even though word-of-mouth was and remains the most powerful promotional tool in business (and life for that matter)! The truth is the more a society becomes technological, the more it craves human interaction. This expo event balances these factors out for you,” the BL website says.

Organizers have planned educational seminars during the Expo to help small businesses gain more insight into practices and trends.
But the event also holds suspense for participants in the form of “mind-blowing door prizes” as organizers say the event is indeed a “celebration and also because our policy is to always mix production and fun.”
Over the years, BL’s Breakfast Club has gained recognition with its monthly Breakfast that connects owners and professionals.
“Our aim is to bringing business people together to do business,” says Lemba, who launched the BL Networking nearly 14 years ago after experiencing a lack of such forums in Northern Virginia.
