With campaigns for November midterms heating up, Virginians will have an opportunity to learn about policies of several Democratic and Republican contenders at the Candidate Forum being to be held at Virginia International University on September 30.
This Candidate Forum 2018 is being jointly sponsored by the Multicultural Chambers Alliance. The Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The bipartisan event will represent political views that impact voters’ choice in the upcoming election as candidates running for U.S. House (VA-8, 10,11 districts) and U.S. Senate (VA) in 2018 will be present to communicate their platforms, the sponsor said.
The event will take place at Virginia International University on Sunday, September 30th from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
“It is an excellent opportunity to meet and hear from our current members of Congress running to keep their seats and their opponents in Virginia’s key races,” a VIU announcement says.
The midterm elections will be held on November 6, with Democrats pitching the contest as verdict on President Donald Trump’s performance and policies while Republicans defending their record and victories in 2016 elections.
Virginians will go to general election this year polls to elect all 11 of Virginia’s House of Representative seats. The voters will also elect the State’s senator from amongst Democratic Time Kaine and Republican Corey Stewart.
