Thousands of Americans converged on Washington D.C. to celebrate 4th of July as President Donald Trump highlighted American achievements at a large Independence Day show.
A giant floating eagle in American flag colors was among the eye-catching attractions as groups joined festivities and paraded to express their love and joy on the country’s birthday.
Trump, who addressed the crowds from Lincoln’s Monument, called the festivities “The Show of a Lifetime.”

It’s rare that the U.S. president leads the Independence Day festivities with a speech on the National Mall. Trump’s show also included a display of American military might in the form of tanks and flyovers of jets.
Before the show, critics and Democratic leaders and had fears that Trump, whose immigration policies and actions are often termed as divisive, would use the occasion for political gains.
But the president struck to a chord of unity.
“As we gather this evening in the joy of freedom, we remember that we all share a truly extraordinary heritage. Together, we are one of the greatest stories ever told,” he said as it drizzled and rained in the nation’s capital on a simmering summer afternoon.
“Americans love our freedom and no one will ever take it away from us … our nation is stronger today than it ever was before,” he noted.
The anti-Trump protestors were also a common sight on the day with a blimp depicting Trump as an angry baby in a diaper
The massive floating eagle was brought by Sikhs of America. The Sikh participants held American flags and marched to demonstrate their love for the country.
