Pakistani-American Zanib Ali Haider, organizer of Miss Pakistan USA, died late Sunday evening in a crash when her car overturned on U.S. 1 in Laurel, Maryland.
Police are investigating the crash. According to a WTOP report, Zanib was driving east on the IntereCounty Connector.
She apparently tried to take the southbound curve to U.S. 1 but hit the curb. As a result her car, a Mercedes CL2, overturned onto the northbound lanes of U.S.1.
Zanib, a New York-based community fashion art personality, was a known presence in Washington metro area for her organization of Miss Pakistan pageants. She was 32.
She was thrown from her car and died at the scene, the report says.
Several Pakistani-Americans have expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic death of Zanib.
