Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation has expressed support for Asian American Chamber of Commerce’s effort to foster links between public bodies and small businesses to help expand growth opportunities in the area.
Benjamin H. Wu, President and Chief Executive Officer of MCEDC, while speaking at an event appreciated the work the AACC has been doing to provide opportunities for small businesses to liaise with Government contractors and economic development leaders.
Wu said he looked forward to working with AACC President Cindy Shao to create more opportunities networking between entrepreneurs and contractors in the Maryland capital region.
Shao, who is also founder of the chamber, thanked the MCEDC for its coordination and said providing information and fostering networking links is one of the main objectives of the chamber.
The chamber will host a gala, Jewels of Asia, on May 1 this year to recognized outstanding entrepreneurs from diverse communities in Washington area.
Daniel Parra, Director Small and Minority Business Development at the MCEDC, earlier made a presentation on how entrepreneurs can access opportunities to grow in the county.
Richard Parsons and Shaun Eum, as strategic communication advisers for Maryland Department of Transportation, spoke about I-495 & I-270 P3 study to reduce regional traffic congestion and opportunities for small businesses.
