Pakistan’s Minister for Science and Technology said Tuesday his country can benefit enormously from U.S. cooperation and Pakistani-Americans’ expertise to kick-start development in wide-ranging areas.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain was speaking after visiting Center for Social Change – a Maryland-based organization, which provides services to special and elderly persons – and is headed by prominent Pakistani-American Sajid Tarar.
Fawad Hussain told reporters that during his ongoing visit he has interacted with a number of Pakistani-Americans serving in areas of science and information technology, and invited them to help their country of origin make advances.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Government is strive for uplift of the marginalized communities through programs like “Ehsaas.” The Government, he said, could also learn from the best practices as followed by the Center for Social Change for care of the people with special attention for their development as contributing members of the country.
For his part, Sajid Tarar welcomed Fawad Hussain’s showing interest in learning from American expertise in the development of individuals needing special attention.
Tarar, who heads Muslims for America and has also been an aide to President Donald Trump, said he would also visit Pakistan to explore possibility of cooperation in the growth of individuals facing problems like autism.
Sikhs for America leader and Chief Operating Officer Jesse Singh and Muslims for American honored the visiting Minister.
Hussain also sought to assure Pakistani-Americans of Imran Khan Government’s effort to deal with the coronavirus outbreak and its impact on communities.
