Results of the first ever COVID-19 tests conducted in the United States have produced positive results, strengthening immune systems of people administered shots in March.
According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has called the results a good news, according to the Associated Press.
Researchers administered first experimental vaccine to 45 volunteers in March and this week results reveal that it boosted immune systems of participants as expected by doctors.
The vaccine produced antibodies as strong as by people who have successfully fought off the disease.
Toward the end of this month, the developer of the vaccine, the National Institutes of Health and Moderna Inc. will lauch a study of 30,000 people to determine definitively if the vaccine is strong enough against coronavirus.
“No matter how you slice this, this is good news,” Dr. Fauci told AP.
