Dates are among the most popular fruits in the Middle East and South Asia. Pakistan’s Sindh province is home to some of the ancient places where dates have been grown for their commercial value.
I was wonderstruck to see a bunch of dates hanging from the palm tree in Sukkur during a visit to Sindh and took the shot as a blessing as happened to be in the area at a time when the fruit ripened.
My curiosity about date palms led me to explore them and led to the pleasant surprise that Pakistan is the sixth-largest producer of the fruit. Pakistan also exports huge quantities of dates to India.
Dates are grown in a variety of kinds, some being small others long with such sweet flavor that only Nature can produce.
