AirSial, Pakistan’s newest privately owned company, is all set to take off in mid-December from its headquarters in the industrial city of Sialkot.
The airlines got its first aircraft, an Airbus A320-232 that flew into the city to a warm welcome from the airline officials.
Air Sial Limited’s operations will serve a burgeoning population in the central and eastern Punjab and step up industrial activities in the region through domestic and international travel.
AirSial was launched by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2018 to improve air travel to and from the industrial triangle in Punjab province comprising Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Gujrat.
All three cities are major international exporters, with Sialkot being famous all over the world for its surgical and sports equipment as well as leather garments.
The airlines will initially serve domestic destinations i.e. Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad flying from Sialkot International Airport, the first privately built airport in the country.
AirSial plans to expand to destinations within the Middle East at a later date.
