“Very very good.” That is how President Donald Trump described his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in a Singapore island.
Trump also characterized the relationship as “excellent” as he walked with Kim at the conclusion of their 45-minute meeting.
The two leaders then led the two sides for formal talks.
The handshake between Trump an Kim marked the first time, the U.S. and North Korean leaders have met formally in the last seven decades since the end of Korean War.
Washington has been stressing that its goal is denuclearization while Kim has been looking for removal of sanctions and a peace treaty with the United States.
