In a major show of “Unity in Diversity,” 17 multi-ethnic community organizations and women’s associations, including Muslim Americans for Hillary Clinton, National Jewish Democratic Council and Bangladeshi Americans for Hillary Clinton have co-sponsored a grand rally to express support for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for president on Saturday, 8th October 2016.
Named “A Celebration of Diversity,” the event will be held at the Ernst Cultural Center, NOVA Community College, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Virginia.
The event will start at 11:30 AM with Muslim girls and boys singing the National Anthem followed by a live performance by Anik Khan, a popular Bangladeshi-American singer.
According to organizers, Governor Terry McAuliffe, officials of Obama administration and Democratic leaders are expected to attend and discuss the significance of diversity vote, voter registration, early voting,/absentee ballots and In-language persuasion material.
Hillary Clinton is facing Republican Donald Trump in November 8 election and the ongoing campaign has seen focus on a number of issues including immigration, education and inclusiveness.
Organizers of the Octobrr 8 event say arrangements have been made for free ice cream and water for all.
In addition, food trucks catering a variety of ethnic cuisine will be parked outside the center.
As the seats inside the auditorium are limited, organizers have urged people to register their attendance in advance.
“This event is the celebration of unity in diversity of communities residing in Greater Washington Metropolitan Area covering DC and neighboring counties of Virginia and Maryland,” a Democratic Party official said.
